Wild card and Illegal Imports
Imports using the Star (’ * ‘) method, are to be avoided, as their use make it considerably more difficult to establish the origin of any individual class. Also imports of the ‘sun.*’ packages are also to be avoided as they are not part of the official Java API and are openly documented as being liable to change.
Redundant and Unused Imports
Imports that are no longer in use should be removed. Duplicate imports and those that are unneeded (such as the java.lang import) should be removed.
Import Order
Imports should be placed in the following group ordering (where present), with blank line spacers between the groups:
